Glimpses presents a mix of vibrant works in etching, lithography, relief print and paper pulp works on BenCab’s recurrent theme for which he has become famous – what it means to be Filipino.
BenCab’s second residency at STPI embraced the spontaneous nature of paper pulp and employed a bold, new colour palette resulting in a series of expressive and vivid works based on familiar characters such as Sabel, a symbol of grace and strength and the changing social fabric of contemporary Philippines.
