Step 1: Introduction to Kitchen Lithography

  • Learn how to prepare aluminium foil plates, using oil-based drawing tools to create tonal variations
  • Experiment with different drawing techniques to convey subtle textures and gradients

Step 2: Etching Process

  • Learn how to etch your designs onto printing plates, controlling the intensity to achieve depth and detail
  • Understand how Coca-Cola functions as a substitute for etching solution

Step 3: Inking and Printing Process

  • Understand how to properly prepare printing plates, mastering techniques for achieving consistent results
  • Practise proper inking and printing techniques to transfer your inked designs with precision

Recommended for ages 12 and above.

Participants are kindly requested to prepare their own monochromatic gradual tone image for this workshop.
